1. can you reuse an oil filter if you clean it, if so what do you do to clean it?

2. On my 2003 400ex where you drain the oil from the crankcase it is pretty much impossible to put anything under it to collect the oil so it will just fill up that part of ther frame. is there anything you guys do to prevent this? (the place is circled in red, in the picture)

For question number 2 i have the same problem but as long as its not too hard you can take off the skidplate underneath, or you drill a hole right underneath that second oil drain screw.

1. No, unless you buy a stainless reusable oil filter.

2. What Tman said, or just tip your quad to the one side and make a run for the oil (just cut a bottle or something for the oil to run out on)

yup i do the same thing. i just put a floor jack right under the right foot peg and pump it up.

I do that too but in this case the quad would have to be completely on it's side to be effective.

Maybe cut up a pop can or something similar and make a trough for the oil to flow through.
