Painting My Helmet

I have the Thor carbon fiber helmet and it is in great condition except for some scratches and I'm looking to paint it flat black but I'm not sure what I should do to prep it and then what paint to use. If you had info that would help me I would really appreciate it!

Are you wanting to use automotive paint? you can shoot a base of black and then shoot it with a matte or flat clear, you can buy the clear in rattle can from a good paint supplier but the paint will come out better if shot from a gun.
