Anyone have any tricks in getting those axle nuts off. I got the bigger one off by putting the wrench on the 45mm nut and jambing the wrench handle up under the frame by the nerf bar to keep it from turning. Then I took the 56mm wrench with a breaker bar and used my jack handle as a cheater on the end of the breaker and put my weight down on the bar and broke it loose. My problem now is I have nothing to hold the axle from turning when i turn the 45mm. Thinking about putting a pipe wrench on the axle. Any suggestions? I think my bearing carrier is broken also... This sucks. Need to get it back together so I can ride.Help......

Yes, They are reversed tread, I assumed u knew that if u got 1 nut off. Oh, wait a minute, there is also that small snap ring underneath it that also that holds the nut locked in place, did u remove the snap ring.
I just rememberd that ring, I found it after I cut the nut off, I felt a little stupid.

ya im not the guy that asked the question lol. butt ya he could have tightened the smaller nut and which is gunna make it imposible to get the snap ring off.

i would try puttin heat to it then use a breaker bar to break it loose. I am also haveing the same problem tho haha i cant get the bigger nut loose, although i have had my axle off before so idk why it wont come off now.

I thought the ring came off after the smaller nut was loose so then u could take the ring loose and then back the two nuts back off the axle. Dont Know...

Alright, just got the axle out and the carrier is out too. Now, there is a sleeve that rides under the carrier and I cant get the sleeve off so I can replace the bearing next to the sprocket.

Not sure what to tell u about the sleeve, mine came right off, and I replaced my whole carrier and bearing assembley.

Did the sleeve slide off away from the sprocket like everything else did. I will take a hammer and brass punch and beat it loose just dont want to force it the wrong way.Yeah, I have to replace the carrier also. Still have to find one cheap.

take the axle out. it should slide out to the sprocket side. you already got everything off to do that.

I took everything off on the brake rotor side and slid the axle to the left.

if you are talking about the spacer in the carrier that should just slide out either way i think. prob some grease holding it in. tap it carefully and it should go. if you need a new carrier it should come with that and new bearings if new. you can get them on ebay for about $125 or so.
