im not sure how realiable my engine will be if i get a stroker on it.. i have a bb 440 and i wanna get a stroker that will make it a 460 or bigger.. but how realiable will my engine be? any one have anything higher thans a 460ex?:confused:

i have a 465ex i just got back from the shop. it put down 52 hp to the ground. this week will be the first dune trip on the motor.

I have a 465 made 47 on a dyno here in town brother is LM546 and his 465 put down 52. Mine is 4 years old (when dynoed) had no issues at all after I got the bugs worked out. All im saying is dont go trinity...Local shop built my brothers. I do have a oil smell when running so i know its time to put a piston and rings in. All i have done is changed oil every trip and cleaned air filter. Adjust valves every so often too but thy have never moved. Im running trinity exhaust, FCR41 carb, 440 stroked to 465(+4mm) carillo rod, head work with stock head studs, +1 valves and a webcam 463/9i cam. I could go with a much better port job as trinity's was just a clean up...as well as better flowing pipe. I did try the 450/451 webcam also and it pulls really hard down low but new cam pulss hard up top. Brothers has 440 stroked to 465(+4), carillo rod, Major porting using bench flow, +1 valves and heavy duty head studs, custom CP piston, 450 carb, and sparks x-6 exhaust. Both ex's have stock suspension including a-arms and swingarms. His first time on the quad he was trying to get used to launching as it pulled wheelies hard and as we raced across the flats at the dunes, i had a 5 quad length lead everytime through 4th gear then he would just walk right by me and hard... his quad hauls butt. We have had it back to the shop because the sleeve dropped 4 thousandths and had head gasket leak. working on getting that worked out but it moves!!!


Sleeve has actually dropped twice. working on fixes for this.

take a stock 400ex and put a bolt on turbo with an aftermarket exhaust and you have 48HP. imagine a big bore turboed 400ex. that things would dominate all

the turbo kit is 4,000 dollars.. and its only for the 450r.. i9ncase any ones is wondering.. the shoop is in pheonix arizona.... i will be moving there next year.. its somthing im thinkiing about doing!.. i plan on getting a 450r when i move there..
