I'm sure I've read it somewhere, but I cant find it now so............

Regarding the pilot mixture screw and pilot jet - how many turns of the screw are equivalent to going up a size in the jet?

Im not sure. I think it is like if you are above 3 1/2 to go a size larger or if its below 1 1/2 turns to go down a size.

If I am currently at 3.5 turns out and I go up a size in jet, how many turns out should I set the screw?

Start at 1.5 and work out from there.

Will do. Sounds as if there will be lots of tests to get the jetting right. Does any-one know where I can get something like the mixture screw in the photo for a 2005 400ex?

they don't make those for 400EX's i was trying to find one for mine as well. those are for the FCR carbs.

your best bet would be to buy the tool from motion pro. def the best tool i bought.
