An body run a 12 tooth on the front and if so what was the effect?

it will drop down you top end a lot! and you will increase good bit of bottom end accelaration

im running one right now. worked great at the dunes and for trail riding but you loose quite a bit of top speed.

I put a 12 tooth on my 07 450r. I just thought it was hard to keep down before, it was impossible. And i raced the same 05 450r that i had beat with a 13 tooth and then he beat me, not off the line but very quickly after. If you want to ride a wheelie all day long this is a good sprocket if not and you have the power go up to a 14 tooth. Helps keep it down off the line and has a lot better top speed.
