Ok, finally had the balls to do it myself and get my bike back together. Now that ive done it once i feel I can do it whenever it is needed. But now I ran into the after rebuild issue. Who can help please. Ive read it before but cant find it and dont fully remember what was issue.

Issue: Bike runs great untill deceleration......On deceleration I get the pop.pop....pop.pops.....and it is running pretty hot. The header pipe already turned to a red annodized color after the 1st 10 min startup. I am running the HRC needle 3rd clip with the HRC 185 main. I have a 11.5:1 std 94mm bore piston, HRC Cam, HRC airlid, Uni Airfilter kit, Curtis Sparks exhaust. Just the pipe alone asked for a 190 Main, so should I jump to a 190 or 195? Or would my pops be from valve adjustments? What kills me there is that with hrc cam the adjustments (this is from memory so dont shoot me if im wrong) are .006in on intake, .011 on exhaust and .010 on decomp. exhaust and decomp are both perfect @ .011 and .010 but the intakes about .0055 it will almost fit the .006 but it aint perfect. Timing marks are now perfect. So what do yall think before i start tearing it back down. Jet or Valve Clearance?

im between 1000 and 1500 ft. youngstown ohio to be exact. anyway, since dynojet decides they want to be asses and not help me with a conversion would you know if in conversion what a dynojet 180 main jet would be compared to the hrc 185 main? and i took the valve cover off just to double check my clearances and the exhaust already jumped to .013 and they were dead on .011 last night, is this normal? i need to re adjust my decomp now too cause it somehow went from .010 to .009? it could still be in spec cause it fits a feeler gauge .010 tight and a .009 loose but i would prefer dead on. I even checked to make sure all the head bolts and cam carrier bolts were still torqued to spec and are all dead on. I am a perfectionist so this is really killing me!!! Cant I just put a car engine on this dang thing....they are so much easier to work with.

What size is your pilot jet?

The pilot jet alone can make your header glow red. And at night a slight glow is normal.
If it runs good and strong when you on the gas, but pops on decel most likely your pilot just is just too small.

A 185 kehien main jet shouldn't be too lean, esp since you at ~1000ft elevation.

BTW heres a conversion chart.

Also you said your decomp was set to .010"

Its supposed to be:
Right side valve clearance (.011") + (.006")
Which equals a total clearance of .017"

But this won't cause and problems while the bike is running, would just make it too easy or too hard to kick over.

Adjust the fuel screw!!!!A lttle at a time until it goes away:) And if u dont already have it get a aftermarket adjustable one!!!

Not understanding this .017 ordeal or right side clearance. there is an intake clearance on intake valve which is .006 in. +or- .001in. there is an exhaust clearance that is .011in. +or-.001in. and then there is the decompressor clearance which is .010in. +or- .0008in to be in spec. Nowhere in any book HRC install guide nor 2005 TRX Shop Manual does it say .017in im not being a prick just trying to see what your talking about. And Gixxer yes I do have a adjustable fuel screw....its just that they are taking there time to ship it to me. But i figure since tomorrow (friday) is my b-day im taking a break from working on the bike. And thanks for that conversion chart.
