OK. About to under go a huge install for a whole new system - front to back, wiring, everything. A good thing about this install is that my teachers are letting me do this as my senior project(graduation project). Hear me out and anything at all, help, comment, question is welcome.

The plan is:

Head Unit (Needs to hook to an iPod)(And charge it at the same time)
Two Doors
Possibly two dash - got to check how the stock ones are. ( i think 3.5")
Two Subs (Probably 12's, Possibly 10's)
Amp/Amps - need major help on this one
Battery (Need a powerful one, I have a lot of LED lighting and soon the system)
And all wiring, fusing, everything.

Car is an 1985 El Camino. I plan on making a wall like structure in the back like this -

or

Two subs behind the seats, and amp right on the wall. The box behind it is about Approx. 55" wide, 25" deep and 10" in height.

Budget is about $1.5-2K. I want to plan and spend accordingly to get the most bang for my buck.

And now for your guys help. I need to know what names, products, models will work in conjunction and will sound good. I want to put everyone at my school's to shame.

What would you do? I was looking at Polk MOMO series and one of the amps. I have not so much clue as to what amp and power works with what and how speakers and such.

I hope to keep this alive with pics and steps and such, along with your guys help.

Thanks for reading it out - looking forward to getting this project done.

I was looking at these setups -

2 Subs -

MM2124DVC
http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/p...inch/mm2124dvc/

and the amps...

http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/products/amps/

Which one or ones will work to power 2 of these subs?

How does the MOMO series compare to Polk's dB and SR series?

2 Doors -

OR

2 Subs - Alpine SWE-1242

2 Doors(Along with 2 Tweeters) - SPR-13S

For the Head Unit I dont really know which one will work in conjunction and why is the massive difference in price range?

And which amp will power 2 of those subs? Can someone please explain how I can tell which will work?

1.5k isn't much. Working with that amount of cash this is that I would do.

I would get a Class D amp. Something like a Fosgate will be the best bang for the buck. Thats about a grand if you find a deal.

Then you need subs, 2 12" is about another $800

Thats the route you should go.
Get a nice head unit, and decent door speakers. Take all the bass out of the door speakers. X out the subs.
