How much wider are the 400ex a arms compared to the 300ex is it worth it? if i buy them i will be putting the 400ex stock shocks and a 350x axle with hubs what do you think of this set up?

400ex arms are roughly 2" wider than 300ex stockers. It isn't too bad of a setup for the novice/trail rider...not quite as good as a front end built for the 300 though. The stock 400ex shocks will work but not as well as they could. They aren't designed to be in the upright position like they are with the conversion. Aftermarket shocks built for the 400ex front end will obviously work much better. 350x axle works well though.

300exOH has a point on the shocks, but I recently did the swap to my 300 with all stock 400 parts and WOW what a difference. I can right much faster through the rough stuff. I've got less than $150 in the entire swap including arms, shocks, tie-rods and shock relocator. If your on a budget, its definately worth checking into.

if you use the 400 spindles as well it handles way better. and the 400 spindles are lighter

This is true it does help with the positioning of the tie rods but keep in mind you will lose some turning radius which might be a problem for tight trails. I tried them on mine with the 400 front end and ended up going back to the stock 300 spindles since the trails I ride in ohio are very tight/narrow.

i ride tight trails, open trails, and tend to do MX all about even normally im in wide trails so i should be ok i just want my bike extended so i can gain more control and maybe not go up on 2 wheels as im turning on a quick turn...

You should be fine with everything but the tightest trails. You just have to learn to either set up for tight turns differently or get use to using reverse. It wasn't that bad with the 400 spindles but I preferred the stock 300 spindles myself. You will gain stability with the conversion though. You might notice a little more feedback from the bars with the 400 front end but it isn't too bad. A steering stabilizer will help but it isn't a necessity.
