Can someone please tell me(or have a pic of) where the rebound adj. screw is located on my stock rear shock.
Ive read thru about 12 pages on this forum and the threads ive found say its on bottom of shock, opposite side from compression adj. screw. The only screw I see there is all the way down near the linkage. that cant be it. is it?. Is it under the spring coils on the shock body? Am i just overlooking it?
I just bought my 03 400ex about a month ago. Been waiting on a service manual I ordered for about 3 1/2 weeks. I appreciate your help (and patience) with a new ex'er

its the bottom screw on the shock look where your swingarm is on the left side of the quad if your sitting on it. thats the screw for rebound

Thanks for the quick responses. I saw that screw but thought that couldn't be it. figured it would be on the body. turned it in to slow the rebound. Like I said im new into this. Now if I can just decide on this 450R front shock swap :D
Thanks again

Ive been reading the 450s are a little stiffer. Since Im 270 that might not be a bad thing:D Im 6'4" so suggestions on higher steering stems/bars would be appreciated.

i am 6'2" and run a +1 stem with 3/4" risers. a little taller than stock with my low rise bars. i like it, still a little low though.

ya i'd look at a +2 stem with a high bend handlebar.

Ive been looking at stems and bars. The bars are a bit confusing to me though. Most of the bend listings aren't too descriptive. I see things like " yfz bend, raptor bend', and a ton listed with "rider name" bends. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

i tired to measure the stock bar height and its 3" and change close to 3" from what i gathered. trty and find a spec sheet on the bar companies bars and they will tell you the height and degree

Thanks. Been looking at +2 steering stems. I was just looking at aftermarket pivoting riser. Honda dealer said it will give me +3".
Thought I might try it with my stock renthal bars, then if I needed more height, buying higher bend bars. The riser is a lot cheaper @ $45 vs $250 + for steering stem. I see risers and blocks going all the way to +9":eek2: .
I wouldnt think going up 3" would be much weaker, but I could be wrong.
Any thoughts to pros & cons on this set up? What about cable length. How far up can I go before needing longer cables? What would be the approx. cost of cables?
A lot of questions I know, but please bear with me, im new at this. Thanks
