View Full Version : can a carb go bad

ok i was wondering if like over time can ur stock carb just get worn out or are they kind of like a life time no wear part. asking just cuz some times i dont think its as quick as it was in years past like right when you give it a quick snap. i havent changed the jetting and ive clean it so idk just wondering i was to grab a cheap new carb off ebay that that would make a difference.

maybe your just getting used to the power and need a 450 :cool:

a carb can go bad, but i rarely see it. and usualy it is just because internal passageways become clogged with debri.

most likely it is not yoru carb, probalby the bike getting a little low on compression making it seem less snappy when you hit the throttle

Clean your carb, check your compression, replace your plug. True wear in a carb is very unusual, except for the float valve. Rings and valves, on the other hand....
