Type in "400ex carb" on ebay. I just looked. there are a few to choose from on there. or you could go to a 450r carb. quite a few riders on this forum use them.

dont buy a new carb. www.bikebandit.com has full oem schematics and can get all oem parts. You can find the broken piece and order just that piece. shipping is fairly cheap usually
heres a link, just select the carburator schematic

I think Im leaning to the 450r carb. seems like a common, positive mod. You guys have been super helpful, thanks.

No problem dude. The 450r carb is a very positive modification from what I hear too. Not too expensive either.

Ya FCR carbs are first off EXPENSIVE. Very good but you have to have them dialed in PERFECT or else it does not run good at all. That is what I have heard.;) 450r carb is great for the cash though.;)

Something to keep in mind, but the 450r carb is a great addition highly recommend it. with my 440 it made it a screamer for sure well worth it.

is the 450r worth it if it just has a aftermarket (hmf) exhaust. Which 450 carb, slide (06-07) or the earlier model 450r carb. Does it matter?

well i had the 05 450r carb on my 440 with
a full hmf exhaust i havent heard too much about using the new flatslider 07 model just stick with the 04 05 keihin easy to tune and fits perfect with a little elbow grease jmo.

I think the flat slide is supposed to make a little more power and better throttle response. Its basically the same as an fcr.
