last weekend at the dunes, i beat a stock raptor in a 3rd,4th gear
sand drag up a hill. i was also keeping up w/ 400s w/pipes
how big of power gain will it be from what i have now if i go 330?
what are some other mods? which 330? fst,powroll?????????

sorry bro, but a raptor with a decent rider would of eaten you alive, even if it never left 2nd gear, there's just no chance for any 300 on a raptor, o, and the 330, don't know much bout them, but i do know larger displacement=more torque, and in a drag race it's all about torque and gearing

yep, thats it. i have no life so i get on here and make up crap
about my quad. gee, u figured me out. NOT the guy was on a bone stock raptor and we raced twice, both times i beat him by a half of bike length. 282 cc vs 660 maybe he couldnt drive but put a good driver on a stock 400 and i will ive him **** in a drag.

lets go on to the 505
my bro got a 416 w/ a 12.5:1 piston, corilla rod, sparks x6, xr400
cam, and free port job from honda and them 505 boys are still cleaning sand out their mouths

Hey Squirrel boy. I think it is the truth that you site in the internet all day and make up stuff about your quad. You said that you beat raptors but you were touching 400Exs with Pipes. I hate to inform you but a stock raptor will still beat a 400Ex with a pipe. And just like those guys said. The guy on the raptor must have been either retarded and didn't know how to drive or The guy on the raptor was stuck in first gear.

And about your brother with his 416 beating a 505. I would talk to Chad Exers about that. There aren't to many ppl out there with 505 Ex's Chad is one of them that does. I am sure when he gets his engine back he would be glad to give you and your brother a taste/mouthfull of sand. He has jsut about the most highly tweaked engine for a 400Ex. There is no one that goes bigger. Tc is the king and He will show your Brothers tiny lil 416 what sup.

Sorry Squirrel Boy it the truth. Go to Bluetrax and bash away. We don't like that here.

i hope u dont take jetting lessons from chadexer b/c if u do, your quad is sitting at home, no plastic on it, no gas tank, no carb,
oil lines disconnected, because where is your motor? on the fastest thing its ever been on, the FEDEX TRUCK( nicely packaged right next to chadexer's 505)

oh and for u little alky, i'd back off

back to the original question? how big of a power gain is the 330?

Yehh those 330ex's are one fast machine, what are they pumping out, 5 horsepower. I know go-carts that can out run that POS. I would personally kill my self if I had a Raptor and lost to any kind of 300EX, but that is just me.

Depending on the kit you go with you will probably see roughly a 6 hp gain with the 330 kit. Thatll put you at about 23hp give or take some.

Or if your daring enough you could go with a 350cc kit. ;)

Do a search on www.google.com for "300EX big bore kits" youll get lots of finds.

I dont know how your beating Raptors and 400EXs now, but if you are congrats. You should be able to run with stock 400EXs with the kit in reality.:huh

Nice going flyingsquirrel if you beat a raptor with a 300EX, I sold a medium buit 440EX for a piped raptor and my raptor is way faster then my 440 ever was and a 300EX beat me I would have to set my bike on fire and run it off a cliff. Good going though..

Nope, but I found that if you have enough power to blip your @ss-end around, you don't NEED reverse. I'll take the extra 100cc edge with the same weight, thanks. . .

But all kidding aside, I rode a 300EX a few weeks back, and it's not a bad bike, just not a 400EX, that's all. . .just the same way a V-6 Mustang isn't a Cobra, etc. . .

Maybe the guys you raced had bald stock tires? Im pretty sure in the sand that would probably give you the edge if your running paddles.

Castor's right, A 330 is a waste of money. Shure they'll be decently fast, but you could sell your 300 and take that $1500 and get a nice 400 that'll have the same power, handle better, have a much higher re-sale value, and wont be small.
Im not flaming, its just a 330ex isnt a smart decision.

I have come to the same conclusion, it is a waste of time pouring that much money into a 300EX. What I have decided is that I am going to sell the 300EX, and put the money I would have spent on the engine with it to get a 400EX. I have also decided that suspension is more important than the engine. So I am thinking about getting 400EX a-arms and shocks for my 300. Then when I get a 400 I can put them on the 400EX, and have an excellent ride. Because I have found that the thing that slows me down most in rough terrain is the suspension, not the engine. I am thinking Houser's, and Elka's. That should soak up the bumps.

Suspension is definatley more important than power, but suspension is not cheap!
I's say start saving and go ahead and get the 400 first. A set-up like what your talking about will cost you over $1500, and that WONT bolt up to a 400ex.
The front can, but it wouldnt be a good idea because you would then have to re-valve the shocks and +2 400ex a-arms on a 300ex would be too wide.

well, here is what i think meathead, try to find a 400ex, with parts on it, for cheaper, that way, u will already hav a motor stronger than 90% of 300ex motors, and hav a chassi stock that handles better than some 300ex's modded, hey,its your choice


and to the children that think a 330 can beat a 400ex, i only hav a 261, smaller bore, must be a smaller bike, il race ya to, anything u want cept mud, anytime, anywhere

O, YA! O, YA! I have a 300ex with the mods in my sig. I raced a Corvete the other day and it was a close race. I took it off the line after that it was about dead even all the way up till I hit my rev limiter than it slowly pulled away. D@mn those Hotwheels are fast.

I don't think you completely read what I wrote. I am thinking about buying 400EX a-arms and shocks for my 300EX. Then I have to either get/make some bolt on brackets, or weld on some new shock mounts. But if I do it right then I can put the 300 a-arms and shocks back on when I finally get a 400, and put the 400EX a-arms and shocks on the 400 that I buy. I think it will be worth it. Right now it is not the engine that is slowing me down, the suspension on the 300EX is a real POS. After a couple of good bumps, it starts to bottom out from every little bump I hit. And I know that if I was to get a 400EX, I would still want new suspension. So now or later, I will end up getting it. I might as well get it now.

hey man...dont be talkin bad about go karts..

a friend of mine has a go-kart that will out run most likely every quad on this site...im not challenging anyone to a race, but id put money on the kart.

cr125 w/ mild mods, pipe, geared for small tires, other stuff but itll do 120+, all in a package that weighs about 130 lbs, and is 2 inches off the ground.

O, Ya, I painted flames and teeth on my riding lawnmower, so that makes like an extra 70hp on top of the 11hp it had before. I just remembered its got a flat tire so thats like another 5hp give or take 1hp
