What are you using for rears? Cheng Shin studdable tires? They sell a front tire that was something like 8" wide in the front, goofy looking as all heck, but they work pretty dang good, my buddy had a set on last year, I probably wouldn't do it myself just because of how ridiculous it looked. Fast-trekker fronts also seem pretty good, they have a flat profile for putting studs on the ice.

yeah, i got the cheng shin 8" rears...i can't find fronts by cheng shin. i would like something that is hard rubber like the rears...

If you want a hard, square profile tire, w/ plenty of rubber to install studs on look at the Bandit XC tires.

Not the XCR's they are rounded radials.

Very heavy tires though, lol. Damn near indestructable.

Photo of the Bandit XC Fronts. I use them in extremely rocky conditions.

Get the Cheng Shin fronts, they are exactly like the rear but a different size. Goofy looking though, and I've never seen them until my buddy showed up at the lake with them.

I use Dirt Hooks on the front of mine and the hook up very well. I run Cheng Seng Ice tires in the rear 18x8x8

the angle you put in each screw is probably the most important thing to look out for when studding tires , getting a full set of tires here made by a professional cost from 600 to 800 $ !

Bandit fronts are definitely the way to go. The tires are more flat than rounded. This causes most of the screws to come into contact with the ice.

Nice pics Ex_Rider43!!!

as good as the turf tamers look like they would be to stud.. They are not. i had bought a set last year but they were too light so my quad just spun them around. The pic below is of my dirtbike rear tire for the ice this year lol.

These tires many here in Sweden and Finland run. They are great in and out of the ideal line with much grip. They are not to wide!
The wider tires can float on top of the snow outside the ideal line! Dont know the name of the tire but i seen some talking about them on this forum :D Sorry for the bad spelling! :ermm:

800screws - I almost wonder if my buddy had the 20" rear tires on the front of his quad.... Maybe they just looked narrower because of being on a narrower front rim... hmmm... I dont really talk to the kid anymore so I cant just ask him either...

I know for a fact he had cheng shin ice tires front and rear though.

Ikas - No way would those screws be legal for competition here though. Looks like a pretty narly tire and stud setup though.

has anyone thought about changing the camber on the outside front tire to maybe change the footprint of the tire? What about putting two differnt size tires on the back. Smaller on the inside larger on the outside to help turn the quad. Is anyone running a sway bar?

Swaybars yes, two different size tires no, because the real tracks are not just oval designs. They have left and right turns. If you wanted to do that, I'd suggest same size tires, just different air pressures. Camber adjustments are done for sure.

What do you mean by "Real Tracks"? I race ovals. I'm sure they're "Real". Considering it is a Pro series. The two differnet size tires comes from my race car cause thats what we do with that. Seems to improve the handling.
