My goal for the coming year is to enter a couple XC races. This winter I am setting up the 400ex a little better and have a couple questions. What are some must haves for XC races, both for the quad set-up, and any other things that are a good idea to bring in general?

Thanks

Good 6 ply tires, skid plates, handguards, Rolloff goggles, stabilizer, and a kill switch these are some things I would start off with.

Alright, I'll be due for new tires before then anyways. I figured I'd need the killswitch. I have been looking at some skids, just trying to decide which ones to go with. Hand guards are on the Xmas list. Oddly enough so are the goggles. I also figured a bumper would be good. And I am getting a nice wide grab bar because of the lack of reverse.

Anything else?

for skids, bumpers, grabbars I would look into the PRM product very well made!!!

Shocks if you can afford them. I made the mistake of running my first two races on stock pogos and they beat me to death.:scary:

Absolutely......at least get them re-sprung and re-valved.....C&D racing does good work. ;)
