this saturday me and my buddy went riding at the st anthony sand dunes. his 05 yfz was running great all day. he has a ironman s/o and a k&n. we rode for about 3 hours and stopped to take a break. when he went to start it, it just turnred and turned but wouldent start. he let it set for about 5 min and tried again. this time about 2 feet of flames blew out of his exhaust. it fired up a minute later and ran like a chap the rest of the day. i have never herd of this happening. what would cause this. any help well apreciated.

could have possibly jumped time. you may have to pull the valve cover of and check the timing marks.

i've seen this happen but on a little polaris phoenix long story but i'll cut it short not because of timing but my brother accidentally put straight race gas in it 107 octane or something in a stock 200cc quad. well it shot out 1 foot flames all night, like there was almost a constant flame it was hilarious

May have hit the throttle by mistake and dumped too much fuel in the cylinder...?
