The ball joint on the left is a Ricky Stator Honda ball joint, its the same size thread as a STOCK Honda and also the same size as a Geo tracker tie rod or Moog ES3045RL tie rod...the threaded end is about 15.6 mm thick. The one on the right is the one on my 86 trx250r..The thread is about 13.5mm thick..., the ball joint on the left is too big for my A arms...I need to get the one on the right to fit my A arms, I am unsure of what brand the A arms are. Can anyone identify the one one the right? Part number? Also there is a pic of my A arms below
thanks

hey man hows it going. Looks like you have the first R i built if im correct. You recently buy it? Same silver vein frame, mirror black swinger, etc.. regardless it looks like you have Laeger A-arms (im 99% positive.. I know the guy who got the R off me changed them..)

If Im right you could prob just contact Laeger for the ball joint. (have them check the measurements for you) I MIGHT have some extras from my new build which has the laeger arms.. Ill check..

also could you post a better pic of the quad by chance? Id like to see it as a whole.

Thanks bro, hope i helped.

I just went thru all this with one of ours. We have the old school laegers which require the 14mm's like you need. JB Racing (Jody Bateman) has them in stock for 20 bucks a piece...real cheap! We just bought a set and they're first class.

I tried every auto parts store, did the same thing you did. Even contacted a tech at Moog...to no avail.

814-922-3523 call JB. Krista may answer and take your order.

i have a old set of plus 3 burgard arms with 14mm ball joints (Travis Spaders old front end) and when i needed new ball joints i upgraded to the 16mm ends

youll need a tap for the lowers but the upper arms just get drilled out

Those are OCAP brand ball joints, they are replacements for the vw bug tierod ends. there are 2 types. Mine needed the newest version, because the piece that goes thru the spindle is bigger, the earlier style is to narrow. Local VW shops stock it and I got a pair for 30 , Ive seen them on line from mail order buggy shops for 10 ea+ shipping. One more thing there is a third version , it has the threads coming off the ball at an angle, yours is straight like mine so these wont work.

I thought about drilling and taping to the 16mm type for strength, but does anyone know about drilling out the aarm, wouldn't this remove enough material to weaken the threaded tube. I mean with thw thickness of the tubing isn't 2mm less a substantial amount?

If anyone has done this please PM me with the results

its only 2mm bigger so thats 1mm the holw way around....on the lowers your basicly just drilling the threads out and re threading
