z400 a good quad? tell me what you think.

hey i am thinking of buying a z400 and want to know a few things.


-how do they run, any problems, any recalls?
-are they good for trails?
-are they good for snow?
- are they good foor wheelies?
- are they worth buying
-does anyone have bad experiences with the z400 or good experiences?
- how fast are they
-what are some of the first mods i would want to put on it
-any one have a z 400 for sale???


any info abot a z400 will help or even some pics of your or some stories about your z400 tell me about thte z400!

i have a 2003 and it had a recall on the front shocks because it would crack under alot of pressure. but that got fixed on the 2004. i heard they are one of the greatest quads for the trails they have reverse. i havent ridden mine in the snow yet i cant wait to try it out. wheelies if you pop the clutch they will get up there but stock no i do power wheelies with mine its all stock but with a pipe my friend does them down the street. if you buy a good machine yes they are worth buying. first mods is probably a jet and pipe. they go about hmm i want to say 60 if you push it. i havent had bad experiences yet except the rear chain tensioner box screws come loose alot but mine are probably just old from 4 years ago. no its not for sale yet.

z400 is a great trail quad,

if your buying a used one....................
check the frame close, the early years did alot of cracking, and the axles are on the weak side

yes!!!very!!! i love mine with everything haha i've only gotten stuck with it i'd say ehh 2 - 4 times but this mud was like waste deep tho and any1 would have travel with it though, oh ya btw they dont go 60 buddy mine was clocked at STOCK!!!!! doing 70 flat in about a mile straight away, but now with all my mods on it im guessing its gotta be doin at least around 75+mine was all stock i could still ride a wheelie on it for a while, the torque on it is incredible it will definitely blow away any 400ex and **** like that i raced a 400 big bore 440 with full pipe and everything and beat it by about 2 bike lengths and i also raced a stock 07 trx 450 electric start and in the end i barely won and yes thats a true fact to

hey fasterz69, how much you want for your z400? or what about a trade for a yamaha xt250 dual purpose bike and like 500 bucks? tmy xt250 is in great shape and runs perfect!!!!!Anyway you are like on the other side of the country so i don't know if we could even make a trade unless you can come to NY soon. But i will def. make that trade if you want to!!!

rider has alot to do with the outcome of a drag race, and either your really good or the guys on the 440ex and 450r where not
(or both)

z400's are quick and respectable power but its not a rocketship

and unless its built pretty well your not going to "blow away" a built 400 or stock 450

yeah i know exactly what your sayin on that to well im not sure if it was a 440 or a 426 but he knew how to ride i do know that, and for the dude on the 450 he knows how to ride but i will still admit it myself idk how ibeat him but i do race alot espicially doing drag races and other such things lol
