What quad should I get? I love to go fast and crazy on quads. But I want a small size bike, as am kind of small and not as strong as I would like to be. I like to ride in the dunes and any where else i can let loose.
if you cant figure out what you can and cant handle and need someone to tell you what to get this quads for you.

Try the Honda 300EX

But if you are experienced enough to handle a larger quad, the 400EX

Both of those quads have been recently redone.

If your riding in the dunes get a Banshee... If you can handle its power that is...
How old are you, and how much do you weigh?

What kind of quads have you ridden? I use to have a dvx, but in the dunes, a 400 doesn't have enough power if you want to fly up hill, i'd personally get a 450, as you'll get use to the power. The first time i road a 450, i was amazed by the power, but that was 2-3 years ago. If you can, ride a 450 and a 400, and see which one you want.

ive been hearing nothing but awsome things about the raptor 250, and i know its really really light so you could probably throw it around with ease

I am 16 and weigh about 150. I can handle power just not the bulk of the bigger machines. like the 400ex. I have never ridden a banshee but I here the handling blows.

well a 400ex is just as big as any 450+ sport quad. The problem is, is you want something small, your not gonna get the power you want, unless you decide to deck out a 300ex or blaster to the max. Just go with a 450, and you'll be happy, your plenty big to throw a 450 around once you get use to riding

if you are not going to race.. i suggest a 250R, you can getem at a low price, and with a lot of potencial to go very fast. not to mention great handling, very light and cheap on the repair.. my .02cents

How much experience do you have riding quads??? It sounds like not very much. If that's the case, a 450 is too much for you to handle at this point. Go with the 300, learn to ride it, then step up to something bigger. I'll guarantee that everyone telling you to "just get a 450 now" ALL rode something different before, which was smaller and easier to learn on. You'll just end up hurting yourself on the 450.
Keep in mind, that advice is ONLY if your highly INexperienced. If you've spent some time on other machines (blaster, 300ex, warrior, etc.) you can probably handle the larger machine.
You said it yourself:

why can't you handle the bulk? iam 20 and only wieght about 160. i have no problem tossing my 400 around. i am not sshort and stout either, i am built like a rail, 6'2" 160 lbs.
plus the newer bikes, bulk is no issues. the 400ex is actually lighter than the 300ex by few pounds. the nex 450's are even lighter than that. most full sized sport quads are all comparable in weight be it a 250 or a 450.

if you do happen to get a 450. think long and hard about what kinda riding your doing and what quad you want. if you wanna do mx just dont get a 450r, horrible stock suspension. get an ltr or something

to the guy a few post above, he's 16, a 300ex is way too small, get a 450, and i'd go with an lt-r jmo.

z400/kfx400/400ex
respectable power and good handleing, both have a good aftermarket suport and tons of used parts available
the 250r would also be a great choice for all the same reasons
and you can get these for less than half what you will pay for a 450 in the same shape

I would not get a 450 as a first quad, thats how accidents happen IMO. A stock 400ex or z400 would be a good first quad I think. And down the road if you want to modify it, there are endless aftermarket products available. jmo
