i tightened the spring 3 turns because it seemed he was hitting to hard on landings.[kept hearing a clunking sound] what are the four threads for? is this for ride hight? thank you.

Actually, when you soften the springs, that lowers the ride height of the bike. Those four threads you're speaking of I think is where the threads for the springs thread onto the shock body. That clunk you're hearing could possibly be the chain on the chain guide. I took some slack out of the chain and it stopped.

thanks. the chain is a hair loose. the way it looks i would think that if i took off the shock and turned it so that more threads were showing it would make the shock longer making the ride height higher. i'll adjust the chain tonite, thank you.

Actually, I was wrong. It's the other way around. If you soften the spring it lowers the ride height. Sorry about that :ermm: .

Compress the fronts and it will raise the the ride height.
Compress the rears and it will raise the ride height.,The picture is the rear mono shock mount in the center of the frame under the seat

If you sit on the bike and compress the spring,it goes down.
If you compress the spring with the spanner nuts you accomplish three things,
# 1 YOU RAISE THE RIDE HEIGHT
# 2 YOU INCREASE SPRING RATE
# 3 YOU HAVE A STIFFER RIDE

The grooves under the adjuster nut are for a snap ring of sorts.

Remove the shock , and you can get to the snap ring for even greater adjustability.

Works performance does this to some of their shocks.

check to make sure that the swingarm isnt hitting the master cylinder.
if it is drill 2 new hole i little higher to relocate it.(the master cylinder)

ive checked that and it is not hitting the master cylinder. i was standing in front of him shooting some video and my wife noticed that the frame was hitting towards the front on bottom. i think im going to have the shock mounts on front moved to the top of the a-arm to raise it up a little.
