Does anyone know which kind of 250cc 2stroke that i can insert on my blaster with the fewest frame mods. I dont want to cut the frame to stuff the engine in there. I have a bad *** bike and have over 2400 in the bike and cant get 1000 since the engine blew. Brain storming other ideas as to slavage and run with my friends 400ex 660raptor 250ltz im thinking at least a 250 on my light frame will get me there cheaper than buyin a new bike. Any ideas?
(Bike blew and blew again in breakin [not in power band])

if it blew up in the break in, something was put together wrong.

i don tthink i re assembled anythign wrong we used about a gallon and a half of gas to try to clean the crank shaft chanber in the lower unit. I think that something might have bent teh crank shaft and allowed the piston to push too far forward into the spark plug! i think my best bet is to drop a new 250 2 stroke or 400 4 stroke in the frame and be clean? I dont feel comfortable taking the block apart.

Your rod bearing on the crank is probably bad, had this happen before on my sons mini, after a new topend he ran it for 15 min. and the bearing gave out, ruined our day. I'd say get the motor rebuilt by a professional. That quad looks good!!!!!!!!

Yeah i think thats the route i need to go made get a 240 kit. I was actually about to let the bike go and get something bigger my buddies have raptor 660s and leave me. Now i have a chassis and wonder about dumping more money into a bike thats gunna keep me eating dust.
Thanks for the help.
So how much to get her professionally rebuilt?
I think i can pick up a 250cc yamaha for 1500 and have a new engine.

Just get your Blaster engine rebuilt if it is salvagable. I had a CT 240 kit in mine and it would smoke 400EXs. I still want to try a YZ250F engine in a blaster though. The great thing about Blasters is that they're almost 100 lbs lighter than the bigger quads.

I've seen a few Blasters with the 250 4 stroke motor in them, that would be interesting. A 250 2 stroke would be cool also but I believe you would get alot of vibration unless it's a 250r motor.

I guess I'm gunna price it out and go with the cheaper of the 2 finding a YZ250F or buying the 240 kit.
Thanks for the help ill post and let you know how it turns out.
I'm really leaning towards the YZ250F. I think that would bring her over the top!!

a four stroke 250 would be slower than a 240cc kit and require more maintainance too.valve adjustments chain tension checks etc... I put a 500cc two stroke in my gasgas 450 wild quad and could not be happier....this thing is scary fast no kidding.think GSXR1200 power in a quad but with the two stroke hit at the top end.....ya baby!!!!
I have a question for you.where do you go to get the differant color plastic for a blaster my son has one and he would like to find some for his quad.let us know at

thanks for the help
I hope I help you out alittle too..
think about the larger two stroke motor and take a look at how mine turned out under the other quads section in forum thier are pictures of my quad and my sons there...............

ok
1) how much money do you have to work with, if you have alot just sell the motor on ebay and get what you can for it... mabie tear it all apart. and see what you get
2) DONT PUT A MOTOR BIGGER THAN A 200 2-STROKE LIQUID COOLED MOTOR IN IT OR A 300 4-STROKE! its too much power for the chassie not tryin to rip on you but im workin on a blaster build right now and the blaster frames font hold up well on a mx track so why put a huge motor in it when it wont hold the power.
3) if you have money that you could work with part out your quad. what do you have for alist of aftermarket parts?
im not saying you have to do this but i am lookin for blaster parts so if you have things cheap enought there is one possable buyer...
3) depending on what you are lookin for i would get a 400ex or soemthing...
4) if you put a bigger motor in it i would personally put a yz250f motor in it and buy a big bore kit and pimp it out. how many people have that? im lookin at puttin a yamaha tt-r 225 motor becasue im gettin the whole bike for 300 and the motor is stuck in 3rd gear... so the motor needs work and when its apart i might as well just mod it then...
post a list of mods... i can tell you have a-arms and shocks and im sure you have motor worj done along with rims and tires and exhaust and reeds... like every one.
