80 mph is very wroung. start saving!

stock 250rs are very overrated. id say 68-70 mph stock at the most

I found on a web site a while ago that a stock 89' will do 70mph. They used a radar gun to check it.

Not much faster then stock unless you change the gearing. I run 14/37, it has worked well for me.

86-87 gearing = 13-39

88-89 gearing = 13-38

I figured not counting the addition revs an aftermarket pipe adds that with 14/37 my R was CAPABLE of doing a hair over 77mph.
13/38=.342 14/37=.378
.378/.342=1.105
70*1.105=77.35mph(roughly)
You guys may want to check it though

I figure you could make your 310R damn hair raising if you wanted:devil :D :devil

I know this thread is about 250r speed but I thought I would throw this in. My neighbor has a banshee that will do over 120mph.

There was an article in one of the last atv-actions. a guy that runs the woodburn drags here in oregon on a 250R framed banshee. It is turbo charged and is 145 hp. He runs the 1\4 mile in 10.9 at 120mph.

145mph in a car is wild, I couldn't imagine going that fast on a quad.

With 58-60hp I imagine you could pull 15/39 but I am not sure.
13/39=.333 15/39=.385
.333/.385=1.156
115.6% increase
70*1.156=80.92mph

If you got enough chain why not try it?? Counter shaft sprokets are cheap.
