project quad worth it?

ok sorry no pics but tonight i got proposed a deal of a 97 honda 300 for $750 which to my understanding the only problem with it is the "rear ends out on it" and ive been told itll take less than $300 to fix it but i thought id check if someone here could tell me if that sounds about right?, i only looked at it for a minute and it looked alright but tomorrow ill see if itll fire up its just that rearend im a little worried about, if thats what it is.

I wouldn't pay more than $750 for a running one. Offer him $500.

alright, got a look at it today and the plastic and stuff is in good shape and it started fine but as soon as you think of touching the gas it dies, its got rust in spots and the motor has some kind of corosion looking stuff on it and on the back of it, its missing one of those little radiators (oil cooler?) and everything from the bottom of the shock down and the dude still persists he can get it all for $300 so well see what happens.

750 seems a bit steep mabye 300 for it as it sits its not really worth that much sounds like its got its problems!!

well no go, i found a part on the top of the motor someone had it off and a few screws were loose on it AND it had like silicone lookin stuff hangin out the cracks of it so looks like no deal for me, you know i thought everybody got atleast one great deal but not me ever i think its in the bible or something thast states "450raider shalt not get luck of good any place, anywhereth, anytime.....eth but be screwdeth forever"
