Ok, well i love my 300ex but am not satisfied with the prices on mods. I am not satisfied with the power it puts out either. What should i do? thinking about moving up to a 450r or 400ex, or just dropping in the 350x engine and just extending my 300 out... i need help i dont know what to do anymore...

If you can afford to move up to a 400/450 by all means...do it. I have put tons of money into my 300 so I speak from experience...it will be much cheaper in the long run to buy a 400/450 and put minor mods like pipe/filter or even re-valving the shocks plus you will get a much faster quad in the end.

My problem is i want to extend my bike but there it costs too much and hard to find parts for the 300... though i like my 300 alot im 15 years old i can't afford to put many performance mods. my 300 has power just not as much as id like to have for mx or even just freestyle messing around...

I don't know about 300ex parts being hard to find as I have never had any problems. New or used you can get them all over this site and on ebay. But...even at budget prices on used parts you will have at least $600-$700 in suspension alone. You would be better off selling the 300 and picking up a used 400ex. You can get a fairly nice 400 now for as little as $2000. Even stock the 400ex is a nice upgrade over the 300. I have $1200 in suspension alone on my quad and that is with a stock swingarm and a used rear shock.:o For $1200 +your 300ex you should be able to get into a fairly nice 400 with the usual mods.

I cant say ive riding for long because i haven't.... i've ridden clutch like 10 or 11 times, 9 of those being very muddy or wide open trails, pinning it the whole way. the 10th was at a track. i still cant say whether i should stick with my 300 and just hook it up or just keep it the way it is and save up for a 400 or 450.....

i had a 300ex, moved to a 400ex and now am on a 450r...take it from me...as much as i loved the 300ex, the 400ex was the best move i could have made at the time...hell, i even kept the 300ex around until it was time to move on up to the 450r

my point being, as good of a quad as the 300ex is, it does not compare to a 400ex. what you spend on modding the 300ex would buy you a nice 400ex...that has potential to grow even more, where as the 300ex would be "maxed out"

Well my dad just bought himself a nice 400ex... i have not ridden it yet i want to though. i just find it is much easier and much more worth while to buy the 400 and mod it out than to waste cash on my 300 because this is my last year i can race in that class and i do plan on racing but wont be able to race it in that class*-.
