Some '03 trannies had issues, so they were updated in '04. They added reverse in '05. They are heavier than other sport quads. I personally like that they are a little bigger than most sports, I'm 6' 5". The axle is damn near indestructable, in '04 or '05 they began warrantying the axle for life (all years have the same axle). The fox suspension is real nice for stock. They also come stock with Maxxis tires and Douglas wheels. The '03-'06's have a pro-steering box (reduces bumpsteer), some hate it and some love it-after catching a few trees with front tires, I love it. Steering stem bends rather easy. Not everyone makes aftermarket parts for them and since they don't make Predators anymore they won't start making them. My $.02

Got any other questions, just ask. I'll try to answer or point you in the right direction.

I owned a 05 troy lee and loved it. I would take it over any 450 built for my style of riding. When it comes to trails and riding all day long everyday for a 3 day weekend nothing beats it in comfort, power and suspension.

I have an 03 and an 06 and like both of them, however if you are going to buy the bike new( I dont think an 08 pred is offered)then by all means buy the new outlaws.I have a 07 IRS model and it hands down is the best bike that i have owned.I even like it over my built Cannondale and my old TRX 250r.If you ride one of the new outlaws then you wouldnt even consider a predator.
Just my 2 cents.
