So the EX will spank a Z

I took my 250 EX out for the first time and raced my buddy with his 04 z250. Both quads are bone stock except mine has 400ex rear tires. I also weight a good 60lbs more than him. We raced twice from a dead stop and once from a first gear roll. Each time I beat him by at least a quad and a half. We are both experienced riders so that didn't play a factor. Needless to say I was pretty happy and proud of my purchase, especially because my friend is ultra competitive.

i beleive that, i mean its a honda they build the best engines. It is also the way the suzuki's engine is mounted, its mounted horizontaly so it loses power compared to verticaly.

mounted vertically? so the output shaft goes up? lol

the 'zuk has a "normal mount" while the honda is mounted longitudinally...but that don't make that much of a difference...i think the gearing choices by the manufacturers are what got you ahead...

speedyquad, i think the kid meant the cylinder. seeing as the 250ex is completely vertical, and the z250 is tilted foward

and if he meant that, that has NOTHING to do with it.

No your right. The way honda mounts the motor provides less drive line loss. The shaft comes straight out and to the rear wheels. The zuki has to make a 90 degree turn.

thats what i told you it is the degree... like everyone think of cars and how sports cars sit on different degrees. who would care what degree its on if performance didnt matter but it does matter because the wy it sits effects the power

I have both, an 04 ltz250 and a 05 trx250ex

the honda out performs the suzuki everywhere
(dunes/trails/drags/jumping/wheelies)

if anyone thinks different, and has a 250ex in compairable shape I will be more than willing to make a trade

they both fire right up no mater how cold or hot it is outside, I think my "honda loyalty" has rubbed off on my daughter though because she wants a 250ex like moms

they are both in pretty good shape, the graphics kit on the z250 was just put on this summer,
That picture was this halloween at little sahara oklahoma

(the z250 is still on its stock tires but they are probably going to need replaced next year)
