took the boy out to Little Sahara in Oklahoma sat. his trx90 did better with the stock tires than the typhoon did, they dug in to much. i have ams sidewinder 6 paddle for the trx but the stock tires do better. the thumb lever is loose. i tried to tighten it but its pretty tight. can i put on a better throttle housing from another atv? and does the vm26 make the stock typhoon any better or do you need the 146cc kit?

Like I said when you bought the bike... THE VM26 IS LIKE ADDING A PIPE ONTO A 450! Helps performance all throughout the powerband and really brings the motor to life. I'm sure a cam and the 146 kit will be icing on the cake. But before you do the 146 I recommend the carb 1st as the 146 kit probably won't perform as well with the stock 22mm carb.

I bought the 146 kit and at the time did not want to take the engine apart during the season my daughter was in so I tried the carb only (VM26) and could not get it to run right for nothing. Just a couple weeks ago, I put the 146 in and am still using the stock carb and it works awesome. Good throttle response but I am sure it doesn't make as much power as with the 26 though.

How much of a difference did the 146kit make? Also, what did you do for the clutch slippage? It's beginning to drive me nuts.

In the photo below, you see the stud sticking through the clutch cover, thats the adjustment screw.Break the nut and run the screw in,(a round between test rides)that takes the tension off the springs and transfers tension to the clutch pack.Greg

Been there, done that, NOTHING! It seems by the time they get the springs in it'll be next year  . Think I'm just going to go with adding the 5th clutch. Being that it's under warranty, I'll just see if I can get this done. My son is itching to ride :ermm: .

I got stiffer springs when I got the 146 kit. The kit made a good difference. If she revs it out, she can launch in 3rd gear with a 14T front sprocket. You can use sprinhs from a kx65 also.
