I fellow member on another site says his YFZ450 goes 98MPH

Just want some others to help me out as of how fast it goes.

Mods that he has said

It was clocked at a drag strip near where I live.

Oh about the cams I had crower gen1's and webcams 187/2.5 grind . The webs where in it at the time when it was clocked . The webs are topend cams but then I put the gen1's in for mx.
Nope 98mph thats with 18in tires and 1 tooth up on front sprocket so that would be close to the stock gearing and 20in tires.
Yes I could have left it stock gearing with the 18in tires and it would have a lower top speed but I tried that and it was way overkill on takeoff .It would break the tires loose in 5th gear and spin them like crazy .
I had $14,000 in this yfz was around 60hp and less than 350lbs = FAST.
What I mean by mx it had 18in tires, -6 flwwheel, dyna curve for mx, mx pipe , low, midrange cams you know stuff for mx.
In another words everything on it was for mx and not for drag racing in the dunes. My point is they can be fast quads even if there setup for mx.

There is a poll!

I'd say with the gearing and small @$$ tires 75-80!

he is about 20 mph over realistic

it could prob do 98 mph but not with close to stock gearing

and on the street holding the front end down is a bigger problem than traction (only rode on black top a few times but every gear wanted to put the front in the air)

I personally think it's around 60-65 tops. The YFZ has short gearing and I never felt like I was doing 70-90 mph topped out on mine, that's for sure!:eek2:
