View Full Version : mounting kenda klaws XC soft or hard direction?

just got my new tires and wheels and tunning kenda klaws xc all around..
i noticed that on the rears it says soft and hard, i am assuming it for the type of terrain?
i ride alot of rocky stuff but after it rains or this time of the year it gets really mudy (i went out this past weekend and pretty much was a giant mud pit)
anywho i woudl iekto kown how to mount them

i rdei rocky trails with mud pits here and there.. soft? hard?

and which is which? thread pattern pointing towards front is soft or hard?

I'd say to mount them for hard, and when it gets muddy swap your right and left (rear) wheels and you'll have them going the soft direction.

There should be an arrow on the tire showing which way is soft or hard. Hard is when the V points forward. I would try them both ways and see what you like. As indicated by dustin_j you can just swap them from side to side to change the direction the tire rotates.
