My AC racing fatty skidplate.... this product sucks! First the taper on the screw holes was too small to have the screws flush with the skidplate.. second.. the brackets supplied were impossible to use.. so I had to modfiy a lot with this..

Out of all the skidplates I have seen, the clamps all fit like crap, they don't even go all the way over the frame tubes. That thing is looking awesome. What camera do you use?

I had to take the frame clamps and bend them outward a little to make them fit, and also grinded them down.

I use a nikon d300 with 2 sb-800 flashes.

um... i have custom axis shocks coming, and then houser a arms, then hiper rims with some gncc tires. oh and custom seat cover by jet trim.

Its taking me a longer time to build this thing since lot of personal crap has happened over a year, that slowed the process down. Heres a couple reasons...

1. Got a spoiled girlfriend
2. Got a new car
3. Insurance payments suck at 22!!!

Yes, the shock on the top looks like it has a major leak. Bottom of the shock and rezzi.

Looking Great! I'm not sure what you're planning with your seat, but I ripped my seat up on a roll over and got a brand new oem one at honda of troy for $80 shipped.

On a side note, if you are in no hurry(I happend to be)^^ I know a guy who will do an incredible job of reupholstering that for you...let me know.

damn it!!! THE SHOCK IS BENT!!!! it looks like the bend is in the lower part of the shock. Hopefully its not the shaft. damn! this just upsets me! :/

New to the forum and just read this entire 26 page post. Honda_Runner quad looks great. Hope the hard times are getting better and you could finish this up. I went for about 14 months without my bike and didnt know what to do with my spare time.

hey bro i noticed you quoted a custom seat cover for $125???


go on ebay, [ i know, ALREADY sounds dumb], look up 400ex seat cover, they have grippers, they make them whatever two tone colors you want, i know people will say you get what you pay for but believe me, i bought one for my old quad and it was A+ quality. and you will save a lot of money, because they are 32$ shipped.

you can take this advice or throw it away, but i think it would be stupid to pay that much for a seat cover, so there is 90 dollars saved..just saying, i bought one, it was wonderful. so might wanna look that up, BTW. GREAT BUILD, its looking so good. can't wait to see it done.

you might want to cut a slot out of your frame where the grease zerks are mounted on the aarms, if you dont youl knock them grease zerks off, it might be a b*tch now cause you already put the aarms on

The skid plate is a honda oem from a '08 400ex. Its all plastic, and that's what I prefer cause I don't like the metal one, since it rusts after the first ride.

As for the resivoir hose running close to the chain. You are right about that. I've been meaning to change that around. I'll probably flip that resi.

I also mounted the shocks, and brake calipers today...

then tried to bleed the front brakes, and found out that my master cylinder has a leak where the lever meets the rubber.. um piston part.

sucks.

You know... I really cannot answer that, since a buddy of mine got that heat shield for me back in '04 when I got my quad. He probably got it from ebay.

Not really, my buddy let me ride his raptor 350 a couple time, but that doesn't sufice. Other than beating on my car more, I have a huge itch!

I just spent 940 bucks on getting the rest of the parts to get it done.

I got maxxis irazr's fronts and back
And the hiper rims for the front.

and im finally done!

Got the tires today, and mounted them. Went around the block a couple times... im loving the new clutch, and the shocks are a world difference!!! since they are for a 160lbs rider, im 140. Seems like i need toe in, since it feels like it pulls to left and right side sometimes.

Thanx! glad u like the build.

And my images are usually shot in RAW (NEF) format and at 12 megapixels. So they are very big (25mb), but when you resize them with photoshop or lightroom, you can make the image size smaller and not touch the pixels. so even though the pixels do drop when resizing... u just gotta use photoshop when resizing.

I probably confused u.. its kinda hard to explain

I understand the general concept there.
The quality is the quality and does not go down when resized properly with good software.... (that's what you mean I guess).


I have an 8.1 megapixel camera but it doesn't take pictures that clean I don't think. I'll have to try and see. I usually just shoot VGA size in high quality and get OK everyday snapshots... but nothing great.

Maybe it is more about camera type than megapixels? Mine is one of those compact cameras. I probably need one of those big lens cameras that look like the old nice 35mm cameras?

I drilled out the rivets that held that pro-circuit tag, and now it looks kinda crappy, but it has to do for now.... Im just sick of this exhaust.

I've been trying to find a CFM airbox for my 660 that is big enough to fit my air filter aswell as my battery in that requires little or no changes to my frame (Powerd Coat) but no luck as of yet, did you go with a bigger box or just smaller air filter? I currently have K&N's.

yes they are power madd hand guards.

and the piece on the frame is a DG frame protector for a CR125, with one of the loop holes shaved.

adding some might not be bad, after jumping and crashing my quad i broke the frame and my arm and thumb lol it was a bad day, had to re-weld it and put some in and upgrade to stock 450r shocks so this doesnt happen again lol but a good weld will help because the stock ones are kinda sketchy in some spots. check out the pic its pretty bad, oh and i cracked it in 3 other places on the front to and bent the other shock, it was a 55 foot gap and i flat landed it ha.

I got them from Motosport.com back in the day... about 5 years ago for $240 bucks! expensive but look at them after 5 years... i love em

The teeth get dull after a while... so all u do is take a file and clean they up, and they are like new again!
