carb jets.....

oK, this may sound a little stupid to some but I'm not a carb expert, lol. My question is are the main jets in all brand carbs them same, I know there not the same size (42 45,ect) Just need to know if they are all the same thread size and all. Reason im asking is im gonna delete the choke on my bike and put a #42 main jet in my 07 400ex and I have a buddy that has a 06 z400 and bought a hole jet kit and said he'd give me the #42.

they are not the same, honda uses a keihn and suzuki uses a makuni(sp). You can get the jet you need from your local dealer for a few bucks.
