Xtreme is suppling the parts ,and ours is a warranty fix,NO COST for the springs, and the clutch pack or the labor.Greg

Give me time and i will post the pics of the fix ,parts and the procedure to complete the project . The cost of the springs and plates are under $40.00 dollars, even if your unit is not still under warranty,it is a cheap fix. Greg

I talked to my local dealer over 2 weeks ago and they said that it was warrantied. I haven't heard anything from them since. My son doesn't want to ride it because he knows he burning the clutches up in the bike. It's good because he knows something is not right with the bike and he doesn't want to tear it up. It's bad because he wants to ride. Think I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Rob i spoke to my contact today,i was told that changing the springs to cr3 and swapping the clutch would do the trick. It only slipped once in 3rd gear and that was enough for me.I was told it would be replaced under warranty . Also i was under the impression that is the fix and i was not the first to have this problem.Greg

Update,we are getting two clutch packs, thats where the term dual clutch comes from.As soon as we get the parts i will post pics of the break down and rebuild. It seems it would be impossible to pin point which clutch slipped. Food for thought,if your clutch slips,do not run it any more, the trash from the clutch could migrate to the internals of the motor.BTW the cr3 springs are not available at this time, they are still a couple of weeks out.Stiffer springs mean a tighter shift,it seems to be a compromise.Greg

On an auto clutch, the stiffer springs mean only a harder shift lever pull. It should not make it any more or less shiftable. Gears are gears and they have nothing to do with the clutch.

We replaced ours with Honda (TRX90) clutches and have had no problems with slipping.

I'm about ready to take other avenues. I've been waiting now for over a month :ermm: . My son wants to ride but knows the bike is not performing like it's supposed to. It seems the least they could do is get new clutches in the bike and maybe upgrade the springs when they come in.

I have one quick question. With no manual I don't know how to get the starter clutch off to pull the clutch housing out? Anyone know anything about this? I'm tired of waiting so I may as well do it myself.

thanks shane:D :D Sorry for the confusion and it was absolutely my fault! I was reminded today that the reason the TRX90 clutch solved our problem in the race motor was because we installed the entire TRX90 clutch. I hope this hasn't caused anyone any problems!

Originally Xtreme thought that it was the oil from the factory that was causing the slippage. When we prepped the new ones we replaced the stock plates with those off the TRX90 and used the stock springs and used Honda GN4 oil. Xtreme is now recommending that you use the TRX90 fibers, sandblast the stock steels and reinstall with thier stiffer springs (which they don't have right now).

We think that if you follow Xtremes recommendation using the stock springs and GN4 oil (change it often), as long as your centrifical is good you should be able to ride.
