Has anyone ever shipped a quad ? I have shipped motorcycles but never a quad using foward air but there containers are only 46.5 wide . Any ideas on a reasonable shipper . I am looking at buying another 250R but it is half way across the country.
I need to figure this out quick
Thanks

My brother had to ship a 3 wheeler that he sold. He had to build a wooden crate for it but I forgot who he used to ship it. I'll ask him when I talk to him.

Ive never done this before but if the box/ crate is 46.5 inches would it fit in there with the wheels off just sitting on the the frame?

I had my 250r shipped across the country in a Forward Air crate. Had to remove the tires and unbolt the nerfs. Put a piece of cardboard under the quad so the brake rotors wouldn't rub on the steel crate. If I was to do it again I'd put milk crates or something under the frame before I tied it down to keep the rotors/rear axle off the ground.

i believe it's Haulbike.com
something like that, they ship them, and you don't have to crate them, don't even have to drain the fuel, they'll pick it up at your house and load it in a semi and strap it to the floor kinda like you would in a pick up truck.

Thanks for the replies
I used yellow frieght to ship one form Cali. You have to build a box to set it in and you must take out insurance but after it was all said and done the price was still under $200.00.

Crate? Dont waste your time!
ID transport does it for 500 bucks door to door. Pretty sweet people to deal with!
I shipped my 250r using them. The rig they picked it up in was HUGE! Loaded with other bikes. Great people to deal with! The guy who picked it up was really cool to.
