I'm gonna get my 11 yr old boy a bike for Christmas and I was looking for some opinions on what to get him.I was thinking CRF70,but I dont know.He has very little riding experience, which makes it a tough call at his age. Thanks Guys, Mat

If this is his first bike, then Id say an XR70 would be great.

Not to much power, but enough to have fun on and its a relatively easy bike to ride. Its what I started on.

But his height and weight would help.

I was thinking that a manual clutch might intimidate a first time rider.:ermm:

thats true either teach him to ride a manual, or a 70 cuz it's semi auto, if i recall correctly.

I thought the 70 was semi, thats why I was leaning toward that,Because he has to ride through some pretty tight trails around here to get to any wide open pits.So to learn how to handle the bike, and to learn to shift at the same time might be a little intimidating(sp)and dangerous. It is how I learned, but for some reason I feel worried a little bit about him. It's bad enough he chose a bike over a quad in the first place;) Thanks again for the help!
