The latest update for the yfz 450 came into the shop friday. The maintenance interval was updated to include replacing the piston, rings, and wrist pin every 5 races. Where one race is equivalent to 2 hours. So every 10 hours you are supposed to do a top end.

I wouldn't bash him guys, he's just reading what was sent to him. Obviously the companies want you to rebuild the engines more often because they'll get more money that way.

If you are involved in serious racing it is recommended to rebuild your engine a lot sooner than a recreational engine. 10 hours however is quite low for anyone that isn't a professional racer.
