I understand that its better to deflate the tires for dune riding. For my 400ex the standard recommended psi is 4.0 but what do you suggest is good for sand?

I use 3.0 for the rears and 3.5 on the fronts. any less you might break the bead and have to walk back:mad:

yeah the stock ohtsu 250r/400ex tires hook up really well in sand.

I run 3 psi on soft to med terrain in the rears..

I would give 2.5 psi a whirl in dunes with ohtsus.

i use less than that in my padle tires, but i got really heavy duty ones that can take an all day ride at about 1 psi. so those things really hook up good:D

I was there a month ago and I left my knobbies on and ran them at 4 psi. It's not very steep there so it worked fine. Personally I would not go much below 3 psi

really, we prob only run about 2 psi in our paddles, it is great cuz my paddles are 6 ply's i think, or just really heavy duty, but we run it down till the air hissing slows down a little, so do my dad's friends on their 3 wheelers and everybody else we ride with, and nobody has ever had problems?????? so i don't know why you guys come up with 6-8 psi for paddles, unless your jumping like 15 foot in the air

I keep my paddles at 4-5 lbs nut never had to air them down before. The way I see it paddles are made for the sand so why air them down. Who knows thou...
