im looking into making my 400ex longer and wider.
the cheapest way i have found is to get the fullflight +2 +1 a-arms
off of ebay for $365.

what i want to know is, are the full flight a-arms strong?
if anybody has these a-arms, can you post pictures of them on your 400?

thanks
glamiskid

Are you upgrading your shocks to match the a-arms?

yeah i'm looking for some a-arms but i want them cheap yet strong and reliable. I found house +1 which is what i wanted for only $350 and then axis shocks for $450 to match them but I cant afford $800 at the moment :(

yea i know how that is. since i just got my a arms i had to put them on despite the fact that my shocks didnt come yet. i just had to see what they looked like :) and honestly, they were fine without jumping at all. i have 450r shocks that were supposed to be here yesterday that i plan to send off to c&d or gt thunder. supposedly they can be made to feel like high quality aftermarket shocks without spending a ton.

They suck, the hiem joints get clapped out fast, the sweek soooo loud and the allen bolts that hold the ball joints in like to back out even when red loctited, that means your a arm detatching from the spindle . Saw it many times with those arms, and also other companys that use the hiems.

I'd go with a set of burgards for your price range, they work great for the money.

I just shop and shop till I find the right price on Ebay. I got my +2 Housers used for $150 shipped, but I was lucky on that one. Some stuff is hard to get cheap on Ebay if the demand is high.

I got a set of ASR a-arms with heim joints and they are great.I have had them for about 4 years and only replaced the outer heims once!!!! I have this dry teflon spray that I use to lube them up and no squeaks. My friend has a set of full flight a-arms and they work great too. no problems. He has had them for 3 months.I dont have any pics of them. My friend or I have not had any problems with the allens coming out either
