just finished my 1st race

Just got back from my 1st race. I finished 5th overall out of 18 riders and had a great time. How well did you guys do on your 1st races?

First race was a 4 hour team race. The three of us finished 18th out of 26 or 16 out of 28 or something like that.

My first and only MX race I took 2nd....


...but there where only two of us and it was a very distant 2nd:ermm: :p

My very first race, I got 1st....and every WORCS Utility class race thereafter I got 1st.....but only one race had other competition, lol. So, yeah, 2005 WORCS Utility Class National Champion...by default, haha.

My first ACTUAL race, was WORCS Round 1 in 2006. Straight from Utility class on a stock Wolverine, to Production A and Open A on the Cannondale. Production was the morning race, and I ran out of fuel on the last lap :mad: . Open race, later that day, I ended up starting over a minute behind the Open A line...and finished 15th.:ermm:

I took 1st place in my first race, but that's nothing to brag about since it was the novice class. I got myself a little trophy and everything.

As long as you had fun it doesn't matter where you finished. I tell my boys winning would be nice but as long as you tried your best and had fun I am happy.

Exactly man, exactly.

I run A-Class, even though I'm a B rider. I chose A, because it would challenge me, and put me to a level much faster then running with an equal level class. So, as I progress, I KNOW I'm progressing. "I would rather race in that class, with those riders, and finish dead last and maintain my focus on the definition of fast, than to race and win in B class and walk away with the misperception that I was faster than I really was." - Joe Rarey

Even if I lose horribly, or even get a DNF, it kind of sucks....but I still have a blast, on and off the track, and that's all that matters. That's all that should matter. If your having fun, you've won.

Yep. Every time I go out and race it's just to have fun. I did happen to get 1st once in the Open C class and got a big trophy from it but I was just out there to have a good time.

I led about the first half a lap in 16-24 B, then got stuck about 5 times and overheated my quad so bad it was spraying coolant out of the overflow onto my leg. Got lapped before I even finished my first lap!
