Alot of people have told me about reversing the front wheels on my bike to get a wider stance. Is this a good idea?

it would make it really wide, but the air stem valves would get in the way of the brakes

You just flip them around also so that their on the outside. my uncle did it to his 99 400ex and its held up a long time.

This works (ignoring the air stem issue), and gives the desired wider stance, but you may find that the additional bump steer created is both uncomfortable and a little dangerous. Same applies to spacers on the front. A-arms or A-arm widening kits provide the same wider stance without the undesired effects.

Good Luck!
