a 400ex engine has been done in a 300ex chassis, i dont know who did it but it can be done,

you could also consider a big bore kit for a 350 x engine,

as for the 450r motor, im really not sure, im sure it could be done, but thats alot of engine for a 300ex frame to handle,

HOw much work needs to be done for the 400ex converstion??
Idk my 300ex frame has been through hell and its still strong....
I broke a front shock before the frame bent...Idk i jsut like the way a 300ex rides but i want more power out of it..Something to at least keep up to a 400ex.....Thanks for the info

well heres an idea

why dont you just build your 300 motor?

a well built 330 will run with a stock 400

and well built 390 will smoke a stock 400

Yeah i thought about it..
But with the money it takes i might as well go with a hybrid...
I want something to run with the big dogs and im not gonna get it from a 300...
No matter what i do....
SO a 400 with some mods should be about right..I jsut dont have the money for a 450 right now and and i have yet to decide if i should by the 300..
Its my friends and i changed the oil and whatnot for him and iv been riding it for a while....But i jsut wanted some ideas on what i should do and i think i might just get the z400 iv been lookin at...It has a bent frame but i have some people that can make it strieghter and ridable but it will never be streight....
Thanks for the info and if i make a sick hybrid ill post it up here....

Don't bother with that. PM me and I will give you the number of a guy who can make a 350X conversion that will blow the doors off CRF's YZ's 250R's and probly most of the production quads..

if you don't believe me, find a video of the 2003 High Point 250 Pro-Am holeshot when his 350X based quad pulled the holeshot by a few quad lengths..

He could do the same w/ a 300EX motor, but the 350X would be your best bet..

That may have been Gil Attix on that 350x powered quad. I know he had a few back then. He was an east coast rider so they may have video of it.

Gil had a Laeger 350x back then, we were actually talking about that quad the other day, was pretty much his favorite quad he ever owned. Like others stated, those engines could make some Stupid high power.
