400ex shocks or z400 shocks?

My friend has an 03 z400 and he is putting some r450 shocks on it. He told me i could have his old shocks, so would his stock shocks be any better than my stock shocks? Would they have more travel?

probably, and if hes giving them to you, try it out for the hell of it and if it doesnt work sell them and buy some 450r shocks

i was actually looking to do the same thing. I don't want the older shocks though, only 05-up. from 05-up they got gas shocks w/ rezzies, and also more travel. If you look what people say in magazines, the older z400 shocks weren't really better than the 400ex's.
