Jena 6 on bet

I see that 2 of the jena 6 were on BET presenting the best video award. nice eh?

Now, the two were not in jail because they plea bargained out of incarceration and had their 2nd degree attempted murder charges dropped, but fact remains they beat on a kid until he was unconcious and fled....over racial motives.

They were then invited to do the BET hip hop awards show where they spoke briefly about how a group of people can come together in unity over an issue? I did not see them say what they did was wrong? maybe the issue they were refering to was the fact that they got the justice on the white kid that they feel they did not get through any other means?

People already do...Go to most any costruction job and look at all of the illegal mexicans. Most are payed less than minimum wage. Illegal aliens are modern day slaves.

You will never convince anyone to get race out of the issue, and I for one am tired of trying. The double standards that exist today are based on ignorance and god forbid anyone doubt motives. The black community is actually raising funds in the name of the jena 6 to make the world aware of the issue (for them, the issue is harsh punishment/bail amounts and the system biased against blacks)

All I saw on the video was 6 kids beating 1 kid, but now I see the black community embracing a group of thugs that should be doing time for assault. Out of the 6(all of which were shown beating this kid) only 1 is incarcerated.

i recently was asked to explain a rope used for a swing, which had been in our tree for better than a year..
the board had fell out(probably taken out by my son) and it "appeared to be a noose"... albeit a very low looking noose at only 3' off of the ground.
i then had to explain to my kids, why the questions about the rope swing.

it truly was their first taste on the subject of racism.
until then it had never occurred to them, because i didnt let them know that some people have problems with the differences..
even after managing to keep my own few biases to myself, to avoid a pre-dispositioned opinion... (i hate lazy, no good, self serving, carpet-baggin politicians)

Has anyone taken any racial classes in college? My girlfiend is currently in a some sort of racial conflict class and all they do is talk about how whites are racist and bring down everyone else. It sucks because my girlfriend is blond haired, blue eyed and the only white person in the class, imagine how she feels! I seriously didn't believe her at first but when she brought home her book and assignments I was shocked. She's so afraid to actually speak her opinion so she's forced to go along with what they're saying in all her papers and assignments in fear of being called a racist, especially because of her physical appearance (I wouldn't doubt anyone calling her a neo-Nazi or something of that matter).

I personally hate what this country has become with a passion. It makes me sick to see all these things going on and it seems that no one can do anything to correct it because we'll be called racist, or communists, or terrorists. When will the time come to stop blaming everyone else and actually do something about the problems? Actually follow the law for what it says, not what we think it should say. If someone beats someone, persecute them! It doesn't matter what color of skin anyone has, persecute them for their crime!

I would also like to add that I was involved with a very similar incident myself about 2 months ago. Long story short, I was with 2 friends at a late night taco bell. One of my idiot friends made some stupid comment and crossed the line by using the n-word. The next thing I know the car is surrounded by about 10 large black males. So here I am, not racist at all, put in a racial situation that I have no true feelings about. Needless to say we got worked. My friend who made the comment got 6 stitches in his eye (he never got out of the car, the driver who also never made it out of the car had both eyes swollen completely shut, and I received the least with a broken nose and some bruises. No charges were ever filed. I was extremely angry initially, but the more I thought about it the more I was thankful no one was killed. My point is, don’t under estimate the power of words. They’re not worth losing a life over.

The wife applied to a 7-11 for a clerk position after working in a convience store in Ohio for several years(lots of experience), she was not hired because she was not bi-lingual. No i'm not cool with 6 guys beating on 1 guy. At the same time Pappy, i have lived a different lifestlye than most people. And respect is a big part of why i believe things should be a certain way or why i would react a certian way. I watched my boy get jumped by 5 guys and 2 chicks and did nothing because he was in the wrong. I told him before hand i wasn't going to have his back. Did he deserve to get jumped NO, but that was the reaction to his action. I understand your piont of view Pappy, its the way the majority of people feel. I just happen to have different views and beliefs.

And by the way, my brother just got out of jail 6 months ago for jumping a guy with my boy mentioned above. They beat him unconsciousness, the proceded to brake bear bottles over his face and kick him in the face while he lay there unconsciousness. They were EXSTREMELY out of line. He had to get all kinds of surgery to correct his face. And it was all over my boy owing the guy money and the guy asked him for it. That was wrong no matter how you look at it.

The bottom line in this whole subject is this: If 6 white boys would have beat the sh1t out of a n*gger, then they would all be in jail charged with assualt and battery, hate crimes etc.
But since 6 n*ggers jumped on one white kid, noone cares. The black community embraces them, and supports them.

We need to go back in time about 150 years. We had a good solution to these type of problems back then. Know how I know this? Because we didnt have these problems back then.
