just bought the wiseco 440 kit , having cylinder sleeved now, has relibilty been a problem with these kits ? also installing kn filter fmf pipe, and rev box, rejetting carb what type of performance gains should I expect?

ive heard of alot of people pulling studs out of the head, blowing head gasketts and even bending the connecting rod. I was going to get a 440 but when i started hearing all of that, i decided on a 416. But all you got to do is get a bigger stud kit from like TC racing or Sparks for like 100 or so ( not sure how much they run for ). But then there are the people who have 440 kits for a while and nothing has gone wrong. i guess they dont ride it hard enough, j/k.

i hear 440 's run a bit hotter but i have no idea:confused: you might wanna look into an oil cooler too...when i do my hop up on the engine im going for a 416!

I had an IMS 440 kit. I didn't have any problems with it all. Granted I was only running 10.2:1 compression.
With your mods, just guessing, I would say somewhere in the 32-35 hp range. It is a big improvement over stock, you will love it. :D

The 440 bore alone is only like 2-3 hp. With the Wesco kit you should get higher compression, because they dont have the compression the say they do. If you want 10:1 compression, you need to get an 11:1 Wesco piston .

440 run hotter, but the reliabilty is still there.

the 400ex already has an oil cooler, get a bigger tank and some scoops

he was talking about the FST oil cooler kit. Its a secondary oil cooler that is supppose to cool it up to 50 degrees.

i have a weisco 440 kit for over a year now and i havent had any problems. and i ride the piss out of it
