nobody should forget that Barry Hawk went on to wear the #1 XC plate on a bike too.

I notice all the publicity about breaking the record but figured some of the newer people to the scene might not realize Barry left the quad scene for bikes and became a champion there too...also quite an accomplishment.

very true, but you cant forget how much harder it was for ballance for the atv titles. theres is so much more competition for him.

Lest we not forget another great Bob Sloane, who was in heavy competition with Barry Hawk, before his untimely passing.

RIP IRONMAN

There was some great battles back then as well! The woods warriors and quadtro locos videos shows a bunch of those battles which as many remeber were a little heated at times which made for some awesome racing for those who got the chance to get out and watch the races.. I think those were the best days of atv racing! I would absolutely love to see Barry get back into the quad scene and run with the killer B's, I'm sure he still has it. :macho

I have one of his practice bikes. There is engraving on the cylender as well as the shocks. I have a pic of the jug.

Love him, or hate him, You gotta give him props for eight championships in a row..... I couldn't stand Jeremy McGrath, but I respected his accomplishments.... Congrats to Ballance!!!!
