So I won this swingarm on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/HONDA-250R-TRX250R-JB-SHORTENED-SWING-ARM-250R-TRX-250R_W0QQitemZ220161657433QQihZ012QQcategoryZ34063 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Now what length shock should I run? Im going to have 2 fully different rear set ups for my 4 wheeler for when I want to swap it out I can just unbolt the shock and swingarm and slide the new set up in.

Also when it says no link, does that mean that I do not need the adjustable rear link? Or do I need one?

No link means that the rear shock bolts right up to the swingarm without ANY kind of linkage.

You need to buy a different shock because a stock one wont work. I have heard certain types of banshee shocks work but someone else will need to chime in on exactly what banshee shock you need.

hmm, so it just lowers it from running a shorter shock?

Call the manufacturer, then you know you're getting the right info. I always thought you had to have a no-link frame to run a no-link shock? Isn't the shock mount in a different spot?

ive seen a stock frame with a no link swingarm/shock.. just depends on how long of a shock you want to run.

ask @ trx250r.net

^^^ I forgot about going on there and asking. That site is kinda dead at times but when people do post on it, its always helpful.

Also I need the shock short enough to lower it for TT

thanks ill see what they say. I may end up getting rid of it because I dont know how much ill actually TT with this one. I may even save it for another 250r that will be only used for TT

afco does tt shocks.
and marvin shaws drag/dune shocks work great for tt.

iether can make u a shock the will work for a no link swing arm on a stock frame.

a no-link frame has the top shock mount moved up 1". they just did that to keep the shock travel length a bit longer.

the major thing is the stock shock has the "U" shaped mount on the bottom of the shock, a no-link shock will hav a mount that looks almost identical to the top mount.

marvin shaws will hav 2 heim joints, one at each end, with a custom set of spacers.

banche shock is similar but youll hav to make yur own spacers, a lot of washers would work.

depending on the length u need u might hafta hav the banshee shock rebuilt, resprung, shortened, etc.

im going to look into someone selling a TT shock and pick it up. How about the fronts? Can I run a lowering kit in the front with stock shocks?

yeah but that adds a ton of weight.

marvin shaw comps, (you wouldnt even need the coil over versions), are fairly cheep. and they can add some extra nitrogen added to the outside shock eliminating the need for a swaybar.

even afco would be great.

if u want to go as cheep as possible get some 300ex front shocks, they are shorter and a bit lighter then stock plus then u wont be adding a nother potential weekspot.

If your racing tt then you dont want one shock weighted more than the other. Since tt has left and right hand turns. As far as what shock to use in the back; it seems the only 100% correct way of doing it is to get a custom shock made, i know pep can do that as well. I would leave front at whatever it is now, the tires will lower the quad like an inch or more...

its pretty low in the front now with the 19x6x10's on it. I found someone selling a rear PEP TT shock for a 250r so im going to check it out and see how much they want for it
