:eek2: :macho

Thats the meanest 470 I've ever seen posted I do believe.... :D

..and since I have the run-files,.... I did a comparison between the stock bore vs the +3mm build....

....just wait until I punch the stock bore build over 60... ;)

This was from another site ;

Current mods 64.50hp / 39.97tq
DRG 15:1 stock bore piston
DRG porting with +1 exhaust
Web 493 cam
AMR MONSTER ignition coil
Rage / Dasa Exhaust
DASA 43mm Fcr carb
185 main 45 pilot needle 3clip from bottom
Dasa Filter setup
C-16 VP fuel
stock swing arm
14/34 gearing
Now 3mm stroke

Previous mods 58.00hp / 37.83tq
DRG 15:1 stock bore piston
DRG porting with +1 exhaust
Web 493 cam
AMR MONSTER ignition coil
Rage / Dasa Exhaust
DASA 43mm Fcr carb
185 main 45 pilot needle 3clip from bottom
Dasa Filter setup
C-16 VP fuel
+6 inch swing arm
14/34 gearing

Stock swing arm and 3mm stroker crank = 6.5hp / 2.14tq increase......:muscle:

Great numbers Jim..... Hope to see you at the track again

yes brian, you could look at it as a gain...

but installing a longer swing arm and dyno testing will make your base runs look lower than what it would have been if there was a stock swinger installed from the beginning....

guess what I'm suggesting is...

'just imagine what we would have gotten on the base run if the stock swinger was installed....

I'm sure the +3mm stroker crank added to the gains,... maybe we'll get to see the difference between the +6inch swinger and stock eventually.... ;)

yup,... I got tired of them so much that I just decided to raise the bar.... I think there may be a bit more left in that engine too,... remember its only a 493 cam,... just imagine if a HUGE 208 or bigger cam was dropped in..... wahooooo!!!!

That is a really tough running bike, Chad what does it cost to get my stock 06 carb bored to your liking?

I always wonder when I see the jetting on your builds.
Even though its an FCR carb your using, its running a 185mj, normally u'd need like a 165 wouldn't you for that carb?
Is it because its bored? Race gas?
I'd like to learn more about that.

to maintain proper A/Fr when theres more airflow you need more fuel...

One thing to notice is that the pilot is small and the main is large... ;)

So its just because the entire build is so opened up.

Ok why the small pilot then? :P

great to know that it's can handle this!

i would considere buying this crank rather then the honda one if mine goes wrong!

i really like how you share that kind of info! ( setup building )

very impressive! :D

How much money total did it cost to get those numbers considering all the engine mods(cam, porting etc) and supporting equipment(pipe, filter etc). Not trying to flame, just curious. No one here localy mods their 450's that much:mad:

Chad, out of curiosity, which crank bearings did you use? Did you use the one provided with the hotrod kit or put OEM Honda ones on?

Simply Unbelievable!!

I may decide to do this if my crank ever 'decides' wears out....

how does changing swing arm length alter hp/tq?

chad502ex

the longer the swing arm the more power is loss through the drive train...

essentially the power from the crankshaft to the rear wheels is lost through the distance through the chain..

we predict that 3 hp was lost for every 6 inch of swinger growth...thats equivalent to one hp for every 2"....

hp was "recovered" by reinstalling the stock swing arm,...

RagunCajun
10-28-2007, 04:11 PM
god damn, i would of never thought it was that much of a loss. Thanks for the heads up!

I know there is another thread where TURBO-530R posted his 1/4 mile time slips,... but for future reference i wanted to tag the DYNO run with the TRACK run...

only going to state what i have done here

i have a +6 swinger on my bike and it was dyno'ed before and after and i pulled 56hp with both so i think the swinger has nothing do to with this power increase..............i'd say its all coming from the changes to the engine..........here's my before and after dyno......+6 and without

+6-56.92/37.24tq
stock-57.07/37.92

http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o101/buck450/DSCF0015.jpg

think i may try the +3 after all
