there are so many awesome guitarists out there.well...there were.music(imo)has gone down hill.noone shreds anymore.malmsteen was probably the fastest but vai has so much more feeling.to me,its not how many notes you can fit into a measure, its more on how those notes move you.
angus young for example isnt the fastest guy out there but he has so much feeling.

BUCKETHEAD !!!!! Search YouTube for Buckethead. Nottingham Lace is a good one, so is Jordan and Night of the Slunk. Buckethead is the da man.

Also check out Andy McKee, Antoine Dufour and Don Ross.

Yes seriously, twice.
Real guitar players out there who knows thier way around a fretboard can appreicate the range and techinical ability of Buckethead.

His mentor is frickin' Paul Gilbert for christs sake and his playing and ability reflects that. Any guitar player worth his salt knows who Paul Gilbert is and where he stands in the guitar gods list.

If your not a guitar player, then you prolly won't understand and your comment implies that you don't play guitar. And when I say "play guitar", I mean PLAY THE GUITAR as a your main passion in life. Anyone who truely and passionly plays the guitar, knows what they are hearing, what he is playing and the level of skill buckethead posseses.

By saying "its just fast picking" is saying "I don't understand whats going on". Im sorry man, but guitar players don't diss other guitar players.

"no acutal feel to the music" is just a crazy crazy statement. He's got some of the freshest and funky'est riff's. He's toured the country with Bootsy Collins playing bass for him and Les Claypool is his number one fan, and also played numerous gigs with BH. Ask Claypool if BH has any "feel to his music". Claypool and Bootsy are famous for thier grooves and outstanding musical abilities, they've gotta see something you don't see.

He's been a guitar player that been in the guitar scene for 15 years, he's got 10+ solo albums, HE REPLACED SLASH WHEN GnR TOURED A FEW YEARS AGO. He's not just some dude playin fast riffs. Its like someone saying "I don't like Honda cause they're red" that statement should drive you nuts because you know the guy saying it is clueless.

His precision, speed and actual playing of the notes has been recogized in every guitar mag and year after year he's in the top 10 fast fingerpicking guitar players. His precision and speed are untouched by the VAST majority of guitar players and thats only one facet of his abilities.

And the bucket on the head, get used to it, its a stage prop, the bucket and the mask are used to entertain and also represent that its about the guitar riffs, the music and not about the person playing the guitar. I can respect different opinions on music, but your comment started out fine, but ended with stupidity.

This thread started out showcasing a "fast insane guitar solo" and progressed into a showcase of great guitarists. No one wants to hear your off the cuff statements mr. mudrunner35. Respect shows maturity. Disrepecting others opinions on a subjective topic shows your maturity and lack of knowledge of the topic at hand.

actually Meat, i DO play guitar, i have since i was 9. i really really don't like his style of music. that whole funky technical garbage i don't like. its fine for a solo but not for a whole song. he also uses way to many pedals. and pedals don't make you better so obviously he is trying to hide something. i dont care who gives him props, big deal if paul gilbert gives you props. does that make you a better guitar player? NO. his "style" is bad. he will never be a guitar "god" and join the likes of slash and gilbert. i stand by what i said and if you have a problem with it i suggest you get over it because i have a right to my opinion and just cuz you said BH has 10+ singles and whatever just means no one wants him in a band. Slash quit GNR because he was goin to Velvet Revolver and gnr had to replace him but axl did a piss poor job of it. why do u think buckethead isn't in gnr anymore? hmmm i wonder.

ps.

don't you EVER say i "truly don't play guitar" again, because you're obviously not a model guitar player yourself. because, and i quote, "Im sorry man, but guitar players don't diss other guitar players." and that shows you aren't much of a guitar player either. im done with you, you're wasting my time

I stand by what I said and you sir are clueless. Its fine not to like one style or another, but to bust his balls over his playing is childish and uncalled for. It tells me alot about your personality.

And using pedals means your hiding something !!! You've got to be kidding. If thats the case, then everyone should play acustic only.

Im not sayin BH is the greatest ever, Im sayin the man can rip and the man's got more talent than you and me combined and its totally not cool to be dissin' someone like that in a internet forum. Respect shows integrity. Disrespect shows immaturity. Stating your opinion is one thing, but come on man, lighten up.

And Paul Gilbert didnt give BH "props", he was his teacher. You can hear PG's influence in BH's music.
