WORCS 2007-Round 9-Oceano Dunes-Youth classes

Round 9 kicks off at ocean front at Oceano Dunes ,Pismo California.
Oceano is well known for other recreational activities as well such as swimming, surfing, surf fishing, camping, and hiking.
Aside of prevailing winds all weekend, riders were off enjoying some riding in the open sections of the dunes since there would be no MX practice on Friday.

The race line up would run quite abit differently this round than in the past as there would be no unclassified Youth ,also bumping up riders an hour earlier on Sat.
With the sunrise coming up a tad later , I wondered for a moment if the youth might be starting the race in the dark! :p

Sat. racing kicks off with the Shifter Open class.
#961 Ze'vyer Mott gets out front in lap 1 ,#18y Parker Taylor in 2nd.

ExtrememiniquadsNW rider Parker Taylor would exchange passes with Mott about every 4 laps threw the entire race!
On the final lap, Taylor would be the one who would take the #1 in the Shifter Open class, followed by Mott in 2nd .

#10y Kelsey Lugan would have a little misfortune this race . Kelsey moves up to 3rd in lap 3, but takes a hard fall which set her back to a 4th place in the Shifter Open.

#39y Kyle Gillespie holds a solid 3rd on the podium in lap 6.

In the 90 open class,#30y Allie Shelman leads the entire race to the #1 .

71-90 mod class,Bennett racing rider #14y Austin Bennett not only held the fastest lap time in lap 5, but also led 12 of the 13 laps to the #1 slot on the podium.

#32y Grant Mitchell carries out a solid 2nd place finishing 8 seconds behind Bennett.

#1078 Riley Clem moves up at an amazing pace moving up from 10th place in lap 1 to 4th place in lap 4!
Clem would move into the final slot on the podium in lap 11 to a 3rd place finish in 71-90 mod class.

#1217 Riley Salters would fall back one slot from the 3rd position, to 4th place finish in lap 11.

#621y Blake Sortor moved up from 10th place at mid race to a 5th place finish in the 71-90 mod. class.

71-90 stock 8-15 class, #17y Ashley Bennett made the mad dash for the podium to the #1 in the final lap .

#345y Tyler Wentz held a solid 1st place all 13 laps, but on the final lap fell back to the #2 slot in 71-90 stock.
Wentz also held the fastest lap time in lap 5.

#413y Trevor Sortor moves up to 2nd postion at mid race, but would have to settle for the #3 in 71-90 stock.

In the 51-70cc class, #16y Buddy Williams checks out and leads the pack to 1st place on the podium.

#38y Jacob Gillespie moves up from 3rd position in lap 5 to the #2 .

#27y Jacob Sheble in lap 5 would also move up one position filling the #3 in the 51-70cc class.

In the 12-15 mod. 240cc class,#157 Joseph Sheble moves up from 3rd position in lap 3 to taking home the win .
Sheble also held the fastest lap time in lap 3.

#177 Cole Fite leads in laps 1 and 2, but would finish the race with just a 7 second gap for the #2 on the podium .

#93 David Kelley held 2nd position in laps 1 and 2, falls back one position securing the final slot on the podium on the 12-15 240cc Mod. class.

In the 12-15 stock 200cc class,#245y Chris Wentz led the entire race to the #1 on the podium.

#66 Jaiger Snow secured the #2 for the entire race.

#3671 Benjamin Cornejo would fill the #3.

Sunday racing kicks off with the 6-11 70cc stock class
#445y Kristen Wentz takes it home from start to finish and also held the fastest lap time in lap 2.

#22y Isaah Marquez Held the #2.

#11y Cristian Elms gets out front and leads the entire race to the #1.
Elms also held the fastest lap time in lap 4.

In the stock 4-6 year 50cc stock class,Kohl Feuerhahn leads the race all the way to the #1 slot.
Feuerhahn also held the fastest lap time in lap 4.

ExtrememiniquadsNW rider #222p Missy Taylor held 2nd position the entire race filling the #2.

#18 p Riley Mulcahy moves up from 4th position in lap 1 to filling the final spot on the podium in 3rd place for the 4-6yr 50cc stock class.

In the 51-70cc open class,#16y Buddy Williams leads the competiton to the #1 spot.
Williams also held the fastest lap time in lap 4.

#38y Jacob Gillespie moves up from 3rd position in lap 5, to a 2nd place finish .

In the 51-70 mod class,#38y Jacob Gillespie moves up from 3rd position to leading the race in in lap 5 to the checker .
Gillespie would also hold the fastest lap time in lap 7.

#56y Caide Hunt starts the race in 4th position and moves up to the #2 slot in the final lap.

Buddy Williams leads the race for 4 laps, but falls back slightly and secures the #3 in the final lap in the 51-70 mod class.

In the shifter sport class, #177 Cole Fite puts a nice sized gap between him and the competiton taking a solid 1st place .

#110y Tommy Harris moved up from 4th position to 2nd place in the final lap.

Following the leader, #8y Brandon Lugan held 2nd place ,but misfortune would cause him to fall back one position as his pipe completly broke off and lost power in the last three laps.

Lugan still finished the race, but would have to settle for a respectable 3rd on the podium in the Sport 8-15 class.

Beach racing was quite an experience I must say!
I think we can pretty much say that this year,we have literally raced just about every type of terrain at some point threwout the year .
This course was very windy,brutal,whooped out,horsepower robbing and grueling by the end of the wk. ends racing.
These youth riders done a find job this weekend racing .
Im sure we will see some of these kids as Factory riders some day . :)

That about wraps up most of the Youth classes for Round 9.
the final round will be held in Taft, California Nov. 9-11th.
