Whats the best cam?

Im planning to build a 440 stroker. +4mm crank, 87mm 11.5:1 piston, portjob, sparks pipe. What cam will I get the most gains out of. I was told to get a low to mid cam since it is a stroker, but I dont know where to start. :ermm:

I would PM Wheelie, he has a similar setup if I can recall. I run a HRC cam in my stroker and it rips, the way that it revs you wouldn't think it had such a long stroke. If you can find one cool but they're getting scarce for the XR400/400EX. You might look at Hotcams stage 2 (mid-top) or a Webcam 450/451 grind (all around). What type of riding are you going to be doing most, that will be key in selecting the right cam.

The HRC cam is nearly impossible to find. I got one after 12 months of calling every Honda dealer I could find. I found one in Indiana and it cost ALOT!

If were you, I'd go with the HC Stage 2

I will be riding MX. Just curious, why not the hc stage 3 that is made for a stroker motor? Do you have any specs on the HRC cam so maybe i could find a cam that is similar to it?

I run the big dog of cams the web 463/9i and would run this with a fully built stroker as well. But you have to run shortend guides, stronger valve springs, and hardened rockers. But if your trying to build the baddest setup on the market that's what you want.
