I want to build a 416 with 12.5:1 and stage 2 hotcams. what else do I need to do to keep it reliable, any "must need" mods, what do you think of this setup

it def. wont hurt to get some heavy duty head studs. its not necesary on a 416, but it cant hurt, only help. also ive heard of poeple getting a crf450 cam chain. once again not necesary as far as i know.

I would put the HD studs in if you are going 11:1 or bigger. The CRF cam chain is a great protection for your 416, and I would definentyl put one in.

truthfully, the 416 i think is the best 400ex kit cuz the cam and piston (bore of course) is really all it needs and it is reliable, but if you want to go all out, and make it unstoppable lol theres several things you can do

-HD head studs
-CRF450 cam chain or HD
-Bigger carb, or 450r carb
-Port and polish for more hp
-Bigger oil cooler for cooler engine
-Bigger oil radiator
-Kibble white valves springs and hardened rockers for longevity
etc... i cant think of anything else but the list is endless lol
